So, after some long thought and a few oppo posts... I'm skipping out on a new car for the next 9 months or so. In doing so I'll have a down payment floating around 17k, I'll have all the time away from campus I need to get control of a new sports car, and more importantly, I'll be in that sweet sweet +/-$33k price bracket towards the end of 2014 model year availability. Instead... I bought a civic. Family member of mine was selling her '03 EX sedan with a 5-speed. Perfect. She wanted 5, and it has replaced tires & just 58,000 garage-kept on the clock, so I feel like I lucked out pretty hard.

Don't buy new. Think of what you could get on the used market for 33 grand!

Anything that would pique my interest for 33k used would just be inviting repair bills of nearly half. sadface.
